I looked up an old thread as I once had a couple of AW-2 spindles rebuilt. A later subsequent contributor posted of needing the same service but found that the business I used no longer existed.
That poster mentioned South Street / turntable experts.com who repaired his AW-2 for $48.
EDIT: I knew back then that AW-2's could be taken apart but did not feel like taking on THAT task.
Had to look at a photo of it but I didn't realize a 1007 took that spindle. I thought it was the 1009 onward.

Voice of music will put the grips back on. They may be able to reassemble too.
Does the 1007 spindle fit a 1010S? If it's compatible I may have a working spindle, free.
