My recommendation for the Dual 1019 would be a Nagaoka OS300MP, with a not-too-sharp (or: oval) tip, a somewhat stiffer carbon cantilever and very good sound on the old Dual. The M44E/M55E works also very well, as the M91GD with spharical needle does. That is my experience - and: too sharp/oval styli really don't match well with the 1019.
