The 1219 has a full sized about 3kg platter versus 1.8kg 10.5 incher of the Dual 1218. The Dual 1219 also has a longer tonearm and better specs all around. Both good tables but the Dual 1219 was the top of the line model.

Bigger tone arm, 12 inch platter vs 10 inch. The 1219/1229 are much heavier. They were Duals top of the line in their day. The 1218 is the only one I got that I couldn't fix. Ended up selling it. I stay away from them because of that. I have had three of the big Duals, liked all of them.looks better too!
