Beautiful, I can see from your workbench that you are a serious woodworker. I landed on your post because I just bought a 412-1B , and I am looking for tonearm ideas, both of your choices are well thought out and age apropriate.

Thanks for the kind words, actually change tonearms on occasion, the Fairchild now has a SME 3009 non improved, and a Ortofon RS212…..

I’ve done this with several types of tables, in a few different ways, high density plastic ball bearings, appropriate diameter Derlin stock cut flat and also machined into a slight pyramid….each type has held up much better than expected and reduced noisevibrations…..
