Easy SE for the Masses

Looks great, I am always learning something when reading these post. For example Electra-Prints. Never heard of them.
 
Small update today. Wood frame is done. Have to stain and poly coat. Getting hardware to mount the components. Should be done soon!

The edges and seams on the wood frame look very nice.

Thanks! Here is one more pic until I finish. I still need to find some stand offs for the board mounting. 6/32 bolt x 3/8" tall. Any good ideas?

Some computer case/motherboard standoffs are right in that ballpark. Not 100% sure they wouldn't be metric, though.

How many do you need, and what's the largest OD (of the actual standoff) your board will accept? I have some hex aluminum standoffs around here someplace, if they're not too big.
 
Things are shaping up, Mark! DigiKey has a great selection of standoffs and their shipping costs on smaller orders are more reasonable than some of the other places.

The stand offs need to pass through a 6/32. OD can be up to 3/8". The 3/8" tall is a must for the sockets to sit correctly. HDepot had some nylon stuff but, not 3/8". :(

I guess I should have said spacers. No threads needed.
 
This build is looking very slick. I wish I had your woodworking skills. My builds tend to look more 'Cub Scout'.

I use nylon nuts and washers as spacers to , get the correct height when i don't have the correct ones on hand . Also use the nylon nuts to fasten to the back of circuit boards to prevent accidental shorts to foil runs . Hope my next build looks as good as yours .
 
Mark, do you know about Intertex Electronics in town? They've got lots of parts and hardware there (screws, spacers, etc.) I've been a few times for caps, phono jacks, switches, etc.
