Electronic music for great listening

I'm glad to see Silver Apples listed. I'm amazed that this many pages have gone by already and no one has yet mentioned the very people who introduced the Moog synthesizer to pop and rock music....Beaver and Krause. "In A Wild Sanctuary" and "Gandharva" are two excellent recordings by this duo.

Wow, I'm amazed how long this thread is. Anyway, one album in particular that I love for both listening AND demo'ing purposes is Fantastic Plastic Machine's 2009 album "FPM" (Not to be confused with his debut album, which I think is titled "Fantastic Plastic Machine"). F.P.M. is the stage-name of a well-known Japanese DJ (Can't remember his name offhand). Anyway, I have all his albums, but I particularly-like "FPM". It has a much-more-mainstream sort of house-music sound unlike his earlier releases, which have a huge retro-Japanese influence to them. "FPM" is a sonic delight (for an '09 release at least). Great if you have speakers with great bass/mid-response. I listen to "FPM" A LOT. So with that, here's a taste (I think you may recognize the sample from somewhere):

Another group I've been into lately is EOTO (I believe it's two members of the Disco Biscuits). Trancy dub-type stuff. Great if you have a decent system and a bong packed with MK Ultra. Good music for vegging out.

Im suprised how long this thread is myself. I wouldve never thought electronica would be very big on this forum...surprise surprise lol.

This stuff is great for showing off your speakers. If your system has killer separation and imaging, as well as a great soundstage, you will love this album.

No harm, as long as the number of threads for all the different genres that encompasses electronic music stays below a hundred or so, I can keep up. :thmbsp:

Some great music mentioned here.
I only saw one person mention the Propellerheads especially since they make alot of the sound software everyone uses nowadays. There sampling/ timing and building are phenominal. (think james bond theme meets techno)

Crystal Method is decent as well altough a bit commerical. I always wondered why these guys didn't do better until I met them at a show.
Fluke Risotto is great album. (especially w the gf in the bedroom)
and of course the old school.
