Empire 2200 E/III Cartridge

I've searched quite a bit and can't find any useful info about this cartridge. I take it that the E/III is the stylus type? Is it considered to be a fair or decent cart? How does it compare to the Empire 2000?

Same. Empire marked their carts in the "blob" series with countless designations. It was kind of a marketing strategy. Basically there are the silver ones and the gold ones. Resistance/inductance can differ from model to model and even the same model. Some are around the 530 ohm range and some are around the 1100 ohm range.

Well, the 2000 E/III isn't really the same as the 2000. The bodies are the same, as far as we know, but the E/III stylus (clear - no color) is a .2 X.7 mil elliptical, more compliant and has better specs. The 2000 stylus (transparent smoke color) is a ,7 mil. spherical with not-quite-as-good specs.

All of the 2000E series have decent specs, however.

EDIT: DANG! I misread the thread title and thought it said 2000 E/III. Oh well. darned eyesight, anyway!

Right... that is kinda what I stated. And as the OP asked the E/III stylus should work..
I have run across the 2002 in the past, but never owned one. Just one of the MANY Empire numbers out there.

I have spent WAY more than a few minutes there, lol. I am currently running a 2000 E/II and 66 E/x.

A quick hint to aid future searches: Try searching with and without spaces in a cartridge's name. I know that's a pain, but it can make the difference. In this case, "2200E/III" would give you the info you wanted.
