Just picked a Sony TT with the Empire 7000/III cart.
Can't find anything about it and stylus.
Please comment, thank you.

Same as a 2000X with metallic red S917 (aka S2000X) stylus. Original Empire styli are almost impossible to find- they seem to be even rarer than the S2000Z. Others will fit though- Wualta will know which alternative stylus is best inductance match

Gretch6120 is of course correct-- it's a clone of the mid-'70s 2000X, which used bodies that appear to have been leftovers from the CD-4 era. They're low inductance (~250 mH) and thus are suitable for Empire's CD-4 styli from the 4000D/I,II,III series (and the 440D). Suitable styli have, however, all but disappeared, and when they do appear, the prices are stratospheric. That shouldn't deter you from enjoying the 7000/VII, since it's one of Empire's better cartridges/styli of the time, and it appears undamaged and lightly used. Clean the diamond, play some test records and see how it goes. 2000X specification sheet below:

If you should like the sound but the diamond seems worn, I'd suggest an even better Empire model for which styli are, at the moment, plentiful and reasonably priced, the 2000Z or one of its clones. The bodies are a little hard to find, but many in The Big Empire Thread have succeeded in finding them.

Gretch6120 and wualta, thank you.

Is the stylus any good?

The previous owner claimed to play only a few hrs and then put everything back in the box since then.
Thanks
