Father of Fortran passed away

John Backus considered to be the genius behind Fortran (i'm sure he had many people helping) passed away March 17.

Fortran was pretty much the first high level programming language to reach mass appeal.

Ah yes, my first experience with computers as well. But only a couple of years later. Computers have come a long ways and I'm sure some of the credit goes to Mr. Backus.

I had to go to a 6 week class for that, back when I managed a Radio Shack many years ago. I think Bill was still in college. Thank you Bill
