I think I managed to find the Fisher Park facility near Milroy, Pa. but, more precisely, it is in Reedsville, Pa. (at least as of Apr. 2003) Using Google Earth you type: One Sanyo Cir., Reedsville, Pa. 17084 into the search box. It has a black roof and is oriented roughly E-W. There is a large addition on the west side which adds about 75% more area - making it approximately 210,000 sq. ft. but the building is otherwise essentially unchanged. I found this plant mentioned in a corporate history of Emerson Electric which bought Fisher in 1965. Referred to as a speaker plant, it was supposedly rehabilitated in 1975 by Emerson. Of course when Sanyo bought out Emerson in 1977 it became a Sanyo plant - hence the modern address.

I'm only about 15-20 miles from Belleville. I think I know where that building is. Does it provide a street address?

I haven't been able to track down the location of the Belleville plant - it's possible it's no longer there. I did find this 'behind-the-scenes' look at Fisher's speaker assembly operations circa 1965:

Yes, the Belt Parkway leaving JFK is about as bad as it gets. If you were in Hauppauge, you were pretty much in the dead center of the island. 495 runs east-west lengthwise roughly along the middle of the island. Almost all of the north shore is beautiful, most of the south shore is also beautiful in a very different way. Out east, the island splits into a north fork and a south fork. Both also beautiful. North fork is still very rural and laid back, used to be mostly potato farms many of which now are vineyards. The wineries have nice tasting rooms and patios, and have entertainment most weekends. The south fork has the famous Hamptons which are uber-trendy. Montauk is all the way at the end, and is more laid back and quite lovely. LI is a big, diverse place. 120 miles long.

I lived in Brooklyn, that's why I never went to visit my inlaws or anyone on Long Island. Traffic was the worst.

I never new Fisher was out there...

I would go to Lafayette in the city on Canal street.

This plant in Reedsville, PA is a classic car parts plant. On Google Earth just type in Classic Car Drive, Reedsville, PA. I am sure pictures exist of the other plants and with interiors, somewhere. If I find any, I'll let everyone know

Sorry to revive an old thread. If anyone is still interested I can get some pictures and info on the Fisher plant in Milroy, PA. I live five minutes away from the factory and know a few people that worked there. I also have a set of speakers my Dad bought in 1979 from the factory for $50 because they were blemished rejects!

I wonder if there are still Fisher parts in the basements of that abandoned building/
