Quick review - not impressed. I was an early donator, not because I expected a great turntable, but just for the fun/novelty of it. When I received mine it definitely looked like the cartridge was not aligned correctly. They agreed when I sent them a pic of the cartridge in the headshell. After going back and forth several times, they finally pointed me to a protractor from Vinyl Engine. To their credit they did offer to have me ship it back to correct the alignment, but I declined since I could do it myself...argh. You would think they would have some instructions/specifics for replacing the cartridge since one of the selling points was a replaceable cartridge, but they seemed totally caught off guard by my request for specs for alignment (overhang, etc).
It is tricky and tedious enough trying to do a protractor alignment when a table is horizontal. Imagine the challenge with a vertical record player! I did my best, but the sound is not great. I just listen to classic and 80's rock, so I don't have the ear for all the intricacies of more complex music, but the quick review is that it does not sound great. With the built in speakers the sound is very thin. This is not really surprising since the speakers are are so small, but the marketing makes it seem like they have done some engineering to get better sound than expected from the small speakers i.e. one of those surprisingly nice Bose bluetooth speakers. The thing is, even if they DID do some nice engineering to get some bass, that bass would find its' way back to the stylus and I would think that would reek havoc, so probably best that the sound is "thin".
You can bypass the internal speakers, but there is no way to bypass the internal preamp. To be honest I did not really give the table a good listen using the line out since I was so annoyed by the alignment process, and I don't really think I have the cart aligned very well, despite my best (quick) effort.
Right now it sits in my office as a conversation piece.

Interesting. I doubt I'd want one, but a curiosity for certain. Wasn't there a Sharp/Optonica that was vertical?
