G8000 with no sound

Yes, after getting it out the colors are printed right on the board on the side with the fuses.
The other side had the two molex's.
The five pin says "B" on the board next to it and "W" in front of it printed on the chassis.
The three pin says nothing on the board and "X" in front of printed on the chassis.
 
best i can decipher from your readings is there are 2 voltages missing . before going any further best give the fuses a good looking at .
 
Wrong as in bad or as in I read them wrong when I digital metered them?

If they are bad, does that mean components on this board F-2807 and or F-2808 are bad and need to be replaced?
 
need to trace where those wires go first . or better check them again just in case .
see which diodes they connect to .
 
Rechecked those lower 5 that you singled out above again just to for confidence.

All were the same except the red and orange as you pointed out.
But this time readings were varying and not steady.
Red mostly -127.3 mv and
Orange mostly +335.0 mv

Checked then many times.
 
they should be volts around the same as the others . trace where they come from and test the rectifier diodes and solder connections
 
Question, these boards and schematics are wickedly difficult to follow and understand. I know it's one of those scenarios where you go......oh I get it.
I'm not remotely there.

I am more understanding of a power supply board, protection board and an amplifier board.
The F2809 is power supply and protection in one board correct?
The F2807/8 are separate amplifier boards?

Then if there are some incorrect pin voltages showing on all three am I to assume that it has to stem from F2809?
Or is it vice versa?
You asked to follow the incorrect voltages from orange and red. If these voltages are "coming" from F2809 (02,03) they are connected on the same traces to to over a dozen different parts.

I can follow the conductor side and what I'm looking at but that doesn't really give me much help.
 
f2809 02 03 are going into the board and are AC voltages .
i find it odd they used red and orange for these .
 
petehall347 you have been a tremendous help so far on me trying to get to the bottom of my problem. But I think you assuming too much in my troubleshooting comprehension.

I've managed to bring back only two receivers with issues so far and that's only because I had a crazy amount of help.
I asked a lot of questions in my last post because I'm trying to learn what's what here.
There doesn't seem to be any "obvious" signs of damage or bad solder joints in that area.
Without actual board and part #'s to locate and test, I don't really know where start to locate the issue.

I've learned enough to know that you really should fix the problem before any resto work.

lets try another way .
tp701 bias test point voltage ? expect this to be mv dc .
voltage pin 14 f2814 ? expect around 0v here .

Ok backing up a bit. You says you wanted the voltages in the right especially the ones marked 3&4 on F-2807. Those are the ones on the opposite side of where the fuses are and area the twin molex's.

I do not know where or what board tp701 is?
They're are two F2814 boards on either side of the chassis, with no discernable markings of which is which? They are both buried behind they're own F2806 boards. One of which is completely covered in a box and the other is not.

I believe the reading that you want, pin 14 is accessable on the bottom but again there are no pin markings on it. Just colored wires again. Damnit!
 
tp701 is main amp board left channel . its the idle bias checking/setting point .
