G8000 with no sound

Both spk A and spk B relays click on and off when selected. Just to eliminate the extremely blackened points on the relays.
I gently popped the cover off relay 1 and cleaned the black off. No difference in sound.
Relay 3 does engage and disengage when powering on/off.
I'm guessing it still would be prudent to replace all 3 if these?
 
Two of the relays are for speaker switching, the third is the protection relay. If the contacts in any of them are dirty you may not get any output. BTW, don't clean them, replace the relays, all 3. Digikey has the parts. Once the plating on the contacts wears off, they start to ozidize. Cleaning them only works for a short time.

i was trying to establish if it is actually the relay .. i think there are other problems . well there is one being low bias in at least one channel .
 
Not having a scope is a disadvantage. Here's an idea: set your meter to AC Volts. Tune to a station. Turn the volume up about 9:00 position. Connect one meter probe to the chassis. Wrap the tip of the other probe with electrical tape so only the very tip is exposed. This will help prevent you shorting things out when you slip with the probe. Now touch the probe tip to either end of one of the white ceramic emitter resistors on one channel. Record the voltage on the meter. Now do the same thing on the other channel. Now touch the probe to the red speaker terminal on one channel. Record the voltage. Do the same for the other channel.

we did this already . well not exactly but same result .. still need to figure out why no bias current yet .may just need adjusting . was trying to get signal to speaker terminals first . it all goes through RL 3 by the looks of it so i suspect it is bad .

I see by looking at the service manual that the emitter resistors are going to be too hard to get to. Make the measurement at either of the 2 bias test points on each channel instead.
 
we did this already . well not exactly but same result .. still need to figure out why no bias current yet .may just need adjusting . was trying to get signal to speaker terminals first . it all goes through RL 3 by the looks of it so i suspect it is bad .
I don't think you had him check it before the relays. I'm trying to determine if there is signal coming out of the amp itself.
 
Ok, at the bias test points absolutely nothing on the DMM.
At the left spk terminal about +520.0mv fluxuating
left spk terminal about +550.0mv fluxuating.

It was my best guess on the 9 o'clock vol position as the face is off.
