G8000 with no sound

i cant remember reading about the history of this unit . like the part when it worked and the part when it stopped working .

What perameters do you want me to use, on, source, volume, ac?

To be clear.... Page 17 of the SM, the overhead shot of the receiver. Your are both referring to tp701 and tp702.
It is not listed that way in that shot but I believe them to be the + - with test lead picture on either corner of the chassis, correct?
They are above C704/C706 respectively.

Both bias points set that way read 0.0.
Sometimes right ch bouncing around all over like a slot machine, but mostly zero

raycarr00,
It plays faint distorted sound out of the right channel, nothing out of the left.

I ran out preamp out to another amp and it works just fine on every source, every switch.

keep meter on tp701 and turn vr3 clockwise very slowly .see if it will get to 5mv .
if not return vr3 to where it was .

does the left channel emit sound while pushing on the relays, other components with a plastic pen... are the mosfets warming....

output transistors... getting any heat from the amp section? look for the obvious... might be a cold solder.

0V AC on the bias test points. It looks like there is no audio signal at the output of the amp. I think what you saw on the speaker terminals was just noise, because the relays are probably also bad.
To properly troubleshoot this you need an audio generator and oscilloscope at this point. We might be able to do it by checking some DC voltages. I'll get out the manual and get back to this later today.

No action turning Vr3 on the meter, turned it back to where it was.
Pushing, tapping or even cleaning the relays resulted in no change.

i will have to scour the schematics again to see what is common to both channels as both appear faulty . i did look before but didn't see anything .
any chance of some good pictures of the insides in case we can spot something ?

also you could try pulling every plug off the boards and putting back a few times in case there is a bad connection
