Gas Prices

I just did a conversion and discovered my 5.90 CDN is about 3.68 USD...so...not too far off...ish...all things considered...

I don't even look at the price. I need it, I fill up.
I am fortunate enough now where I can do this, but there was a time in my life where it was a regular occurrence to take the change in my pocket or whatever I could scrounge up from between the seats and ashamedly ask the clerk for less than $1 at the pump... Thankfully I drove a Honda so running on fumes was no big deal lol

2023 profits by company:

Heinz Kraft: $8.973 billion

Exxon Mobil: $9.1 billion

JP Morgan: $49 billion

Delta Airlines: $4.6 billion

Amazon: $9.9 billion

Apple Inc: $97 billion

Tesla: $13.6 billion

Verizon: $78.6 billion

Albertsons: $21.75 billion

Walmart: $155 billion

Target: $25.2 billion

Nike: $22.65 billion

Blue Cross & Shield: $7.5 billion

Kaiser: $3.29 billion

What does this have to do with anything?

Starbucks made $24.56 billion in profits for 2023. Which means it could give each of its 400,000 employees an $11,000 raise and would still have $20 billion in profit.

Not trying to make this political, just real.

Wondering what the profits are as a percentage of total sales?

If you happen have those figures, of course.

Assume you want profit MARGINS? Id offer they're up as well.

Imagine buying gas in some parts of Europe (Norway/Greece etc.) where it's upwards of $6.00, and as high as $7.97 in some places?

And not to get political...more financial on how it's going to affect prices in the stores!

Well for sure when energy prices are high it trickles down to food and housing. No wonder we can't get a handle on inflation yet.

I am paying a bit more than $5 on the average. I think my gas is special, made by virgins under full moon.

It looks like this is Gross Profits before operating expenses. Probably not the best way to justify a big bonus for employees.
