Short speaker wires -- but lengthy interconnects. Seems like an 'iffy' justification at best.

The "it looks cools" and "it's heavy" justifications are the most common, I suspect.

I was thinking about this thread while I was preparing my sound system for a up and coming tour this week.....
Yep!! These babies are staying right on the floor......!!!....
Those Crown Macrotech 5002VZ's weigh 80lb's each and there are 52 of them right there......

Considering that a lot of those amps use balanced cables, its not an iffy justification at all. Also, ESLs in particular do not seem to react well to long runs of speaker cables.
