On the Floor

You guys realize that the floor is the dirtiest part of your house and where all of the dustbunnies collect? I would never put my equipment down there and after having the turntable mounted on 8 concrete blocks, just moved all of the gear into another room to isolate everything from my speakers.:)

Depends on your house. A lot of people seem to keep pristine dust-free houses. I don't know how they do that. I'm forever tracking dirt in from outside, there's the cat, the wood stove ash, the sawdust from the shop...but there are weird people who can pull it off. Maybe they go out and back inside once a day, close the door, and spend the rest of the time dusting. :D

reason why gear goes on the floor if your referring to amps is cause it allows for a better imagery and soundstage. makes the center soundstage more accurate and realistic.

.

interesting comment....how does this work compared to elevating the amp?

I'm into bass and I've found that my amps put out their best bass mounted as close to the ceiling as possible. Only problem is this postition raises hell with my imaging and soundstage. So now I'm passively bi-amped.........one amp on the floor and one ceiling mount to give me the best of both worlds:D
