I prefer to make my own racks. The first one that I made was many years ago. I used left over construction lumber (2x4 and 2x6, plus some 3/4 plywood for the shelf inserts). It took a weekend to complete and the cost was zero.

When I decided to set up a system in my office with my KEF Calindas, I needed a simple rack and made this one from left over ambrosia maple. Again took a weekend to complete and the cost was zero.

Both stands are sturdy and will easily support several hundred lbs of gear, although I prefer a minimalist setup.
In my office setup, I only stream my lossless ripped CDs or internet radio from a Mac Mini to an airport express which feeds a combination DAC/preamp.
