Lovely.......would that turntable be made by CEC ?

Not stereo equipment but something kind of cool, I was walking around a Thirft Store today and noticed this, I walked up and saw 3.95. I asked if this was the price and it was, it has a new home in my stereo listening room:D

Sweet Find !!! .................. I have a Pioneer PL-510 with a Shure V-15 Type III that I bought in the mid 70's. That PL-71 is definately a step up from the PL-510. Mine listed for $200 & the 71 listed for $300 & was made from 1974 to 1976.

Made by McFarland(sp?) Toys. IIRC, they are from the late 1990's.
I always wanted a set, but they were like $20-30 new. But at $3.95? :tresbon:

Tivo HD with USB wireless connector for $20. The corner was knocked loose, apparently from a bad bump. It fired up okay but the remote would not work. I unscrewed the lid and front panel off and reinserted the ribbon cable into the front panel connection. Turned it on and there was a power light and some other indicators that I did not see before. Then the remote worked. These sell for hundreds on FeeBay. Now if I can just get the cable cards from VZ I'll have the basement TV online.

Hello all, this is my first post and I guess it's appropriate to post here seeing as my finds are pretty much what has introduced me to the world of classic audio.

So far:
Marantz 2230 - $10 - Yard Sale, needed pots cleaned.

Connoisseur BD2/A - $10 - Yard Sale, needs new belt and suspension mount.

Pioneer SX-680 - Free - Older lady was getting rid of "junk," needed pots cleaned.

Realistic Optimus 1b - Older lady was getting rid of "junk," had to reseal the cab, perfect working order, except that one woofer was replaced with a non-original, but it still sounds great.

Smaller Advents (1972) - $10 (wanted $40 but I talked them down after showing them the surrounds ;) ) - Salvation Army, needed new surrounds.

AR-4xa - Free - GFs dad was going to chuck them, cloth surrounds were torn, replaced with foam.

Technics SL-1300 - Free - GFs Dad was going to chuck, needed adjustment, had a Stanton 681EEE Cartridge/Stylus.

What a haul !!!

I often show the people in the thrift store the rotted surrounds on speakers they are asking too much for......then i get them for $5 and refoam them !!!!

This cost maybe 5 bucks from my local thrift yesterday...

I thought all LXI (Sears) was rubbish, this on the other hand is not...heavy, all metal, solid metal knobs.......made in Japan by........well maybe Sanyo maybe Kenwood.....whoever made it .......it sounds superb.....

One or two slight problems.....from cold it only runs for 10 mins before cuting out......but i am going to get it fixed........

Oh it will run all day long like this :)

Only 2

I have only 2 thrift store buys.

A pair of Genesis 110 speakers $20 (Good condition)
A SONY C77ES CD player $30 (Excellent condition)

All 3 pieces for 29.99, from the Salvation Army... and built very well considering their place in the line-up.

I'm working on one of those for someone, it is a nice built receiver, looks very very similar to Pioneer SX x50 series stuff. I estimate no more than 50 WPC.
