GRS 15PF 8

These are 15" woofers I found at a pawn shop for $50. a pair. I'm wondering if anybody around here thinks that these woofers are really worth that much? They look brand new in the original boxes.
Any thoughts about these woofers?

Makes the GRS look like cheap and inefficient speakers.
I suppose I just answered my own question then.
Is this just a classic case of you get what you pay for?

Unless you;re just seeking subjective opinions, i think your question needs to be a bit more specific.

Are they worth is as opposed to what?

My subjective opinion would be:

87db is very poor sensitivity performance for a 15 inch woofer, and this is exactly the kind of POS that the un-informed will install in what used to be a decent speaker system until the original foams deteriorated and the owner was clueless about having them repaired/re-foamed.

Here are a couple testimonials from the PE catalog page:

I had an older pair of JBL speakers. One was blown so I decided to replace both

Foam ring around old woofer was rotted. Price for replacement was very reasonable

In most cases, it's best to repair an original woofer over some kind of cheap shotgun replacement.

If somebody were building a scratch speaker system based around a 15 inch woofer, they could blindly toss a rock and probably hit a better woofer to build around.
