Hafler DH-220 question

Does anyone know if Hafler DH-220 is capable of driving 4 ohm loads?
Manual mentions only 8 ohms.

I've never heard of any restrictions for that era of Hafler. MOSFET's care a lot less about loads and thermal runaway than their bipolar counterparts. The Haflers were sold as being good with difficult loads. Magnaplaners, Electrostats, etc.

Ditto. I've run the halfler dh-220 with a 3.4~ ohm load. It's a really very stable amp.

I think I might think twice about a 2 ohm load.

I was thinking about using it to power a 4 ohm subwoofer. I'll give it a try...

It will work fine. The only discussion I have heard about the ~100-watters is that with the bridging kits installed the amps would like to see at least 4 ohms, indicating that 2 ohm loads are marginal on a stereo amp. These high current amps are stable, generally.

omg, those are fire hazards. so just send them to me. i like playing with fire hazards. ive got its little brother dh 200 which drives my RSa just fine. i did have that one a while back(dh 220). sold it for finances at a decent price and it went quick. and a line formed. even people with out jobs responded. saying theysll get a job within a month and if i still had it they could buy it then. hehe hehe
the dh 220 i had ran hot. got hot within minutes. i guess its speced for high bias. but my dh 200 runs much cooler. enjoy your fi...i mean your amp.
