Have we already forgotten 9/11?

I certainly won't forget the event - I mean, how could you? So, forgetting is not an issue to me. HOWEVER, I have a concern that the country has to move on from just mourning to seeking real justice, because it was the largest demonstration of government stupidity, incompetence, failure, weakness, and duplicity in the Nation's history. It SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED - FULL STOP!

To make it worse, no accountability was accepted by anyone, or any agency. To make it even MUCH WORSE, the air quality at the pile was absolutely known and measured as TOXIC TO HUMANS, and yet - after the massive failure, officials lied, over and over and over, that the "air was safe" - and this led to the prolonged death of thousands of HEROES who worked the pile in the aftermath. So each year that we mourn the 2900 initial victims, the LIARS, INCOMPETENTS, DECEPTIVE MANIPULATORS, CONTRIBUTORS TO THAT MASSIVE FAILURE are living grand lives, collecting big government pensions, behind MASSIVE WALLS of slathered on cover up.

With no accountability coming for 25 years, the nation has to endure its UTTER FAILURE every September 11th. The dead, the living, and the terminally sick deserve more than mourning, they DESERVE JUSTICE. The Nation deserves justice.
No accountability whatsoever and it appears that we have learned nothing as we are once again involved in yet another war in the Middle East...

Yep, every generation of administrative leaders seems to think they're so much smarter and more clever than every one that came before them- and somehow, they will actually be able to win a middle-east conflict "this time"...

As WOPR said in "War Games"- this is one of those situations, where the only winning move, is not to play.

Regards,
Gordon.

It's almost as if.......the entire nation memory-holed every mistake, failure, screw up, error, incompetence, prior warning, and lie that was revealed in the aftermath. Today, it is remembered as just a "tragedy that arrived unannounced from out of the clear blue" ---no recrimination, no penalties, no prosecutions, no shame, no blame, no loss of status, or public trust. Each year the memorial comes and goes - no one is mad, no one is yelling, no one is complaining, questioning, or demanding anything. It's like the Men In Black flashed that magic flashlight into the entire country's eyes.

I dunno.....maybe they did?

The people who have dragged us into the latest war of choice in the Middle East aren't exactly spring chickens.

This comes even with the luxury of hindsight.

That's why I think if anything we should be increasing security at airports and other potential targets for terrorism, not relaxing them. If not, I'm afraid we will relive the entire tragedy all over again someday.

AK is not a political site - it is an Audio discussion site with some other friendly topics allowed.

Most of us are old enough to have been sentient during the Sept 11, 2001 events and have strong opinions.
My boss (Secretary Army, M&RA) was leaving his office at the Pentagon that morning when he saw the wing explode behind him.

Discussion of the ongoing war and things leading up to it are beyond the pale of a friendly AUDIO SITE.
Discussions of such are edgy at best and angry and beyond. Tough to discuss any of that without getting political.
AK has the Political Chat site for such discussions - Political Forums - Powered by vBulletin

I'm ending this thread here and now.
