Heath Ledger dead at 28!

I suspect it was an accident

What happens when your housekeeper finds you cold to the touch? Why get on the horn and call the Olsen twins! Oh god in heaven. RIP.

It is usually expected that the only reason anybody in that situation would not first call 911 is simply to get rid of anything illegal. In this case we should expect that there were recreational drugs in his area. He has been seen partying and I suspect it is unlikely that he was not doing the same things his friends are known to do. That's usually the case.
I suspect he was a good person and I understand that party scene but I wonder how many of his fans think it's ok to do recreational drugs?

iety
If I hear one more person refer to those that commit suicide as "being selfish" or "copping out" I'm gonna scream. That said, I don't believe there's such a thing as accidentally overdosing on sleeping pills. But we'll wait and see.

Then go ahead and scream, I've been there, on the verge. have you? It is selfish. Selfish in the respect that you give no one else a say or a chance to help you. It's a big F..K you. I'm gonna do what I wanna do and I don't care what you want. I don't care about the one's I leave behind that have to deal with it. Tell me that's not selfish.

Tell me I don't care about mom, dad, sister, brother, friend or co-worker. You wanna commit? It's about you.

Accidentally overdosing? Of course one can if they're not in the right frame of mind. I respectfully think you're seeing this from your point of view. Who know's what was in his head? Booze, stress, accident, whatever. Something got to him.

OD'ing is easy when you're not in a good place.............R1

Is it possible that someone who is as veril and strong as any

man on earth could have a body chemistry that is more sensitive to partying/drug usage than most others?
It is extremely unlikely that he was not doing cocaine based on many facts.
Is it our business to discuss another man's personal life? Is it ok just because he is famous? Does it matter that millions and millions of adoring fans want to be like him and do what he does whether in public or private?
I find it funny that most of the adoring fans who do so much to enable thier idols to do anything they want all the while telling everybody else not to do the bad things thier idols do just don't get it.
I guess because of his wonderful screen presence and all people assume about the kind of man he is that he should be honored and respected more than the millions of other people who party like it's 1999?

Apologize to whom and what for?

Move along, nothing to see here.
Well, If I made a statement about someone that is very uncomplimentary and ended up being premature and inaccurate I would apologize to those who heard it. It doesn't matter if the subject had ever heard it or not. Maybe I have an unusual sense of fairness.

Attacking the messenger.

then again, you're more than a little oversensitive and place a bit too much importance on celebrities.

I'd suggest, in the sense of fairness, you send the same message to all the major news agencies that made this speculation if you feel that strongly about this.

After all, I was only responding to what was in the news at the time I posted and, as such, was only the messenger.

And, to keep to my word, I apologized.

Now, it's your turn to be a man. Think about it... :thmbsp:

My last comment was not directed at you, but rather at the member who asked why I thought an apology or at least a retraction was called for. You did in fact keep your word.
You correctly stated that I obviously don't know you, nor do you know me as I've never been called sensitive in my life. The fact that the person was a celebrity is irrelevent; the truth is the truth. I have little respect for any of the major news agencies these days because in the rush to be first with the story the truth is usually secondary. THAT syndrome, and not whether I think suicide is a cowardly act, was what prompted my original post. Both you and the tabloid press were wrong, but you have made good on your word. That sir, is what I call being a man.

One last thing I'd like to share, that was a good thing. Friday (I think), I was watching The Soup (formerly Talk Soup, been on for at least 10-15 years I think - if you haven't seen it, they make fun of everything on TV and in Hollywood, daily). End of the show, the host says, "BTW, one more thing. [up comes a pic of Ledger] Actor Heath Ledger died this week. In all the years this show has been on the air, we've never had a reason to mention him on this show. So stop digging for dirt, you bunch of weasels! Good night."

I thought it was very classy.

Funny... sounded like a very clever put-down of sorts to me. If they were being "classy" should they state that they never had a reason to mention one of mary kate olsen's many toys? Do they really want us to stop digging dirt? heathledger allowed us to see him act in movies etc. and he was a nice man. There is no evidence to show he ever did anything special for others, outside his immediate family and friends, during the years he had the money to do so. He was a nice man and deserves credit for that. He deserves no more credit than millions and millions of other good people throughout the world who deserve much more than he ever did based on his actions. I have to admit all those "millions and millions of genuinely deserving people" are not likely in any way to have the level of the sweet and beautiful, American, drop down to your knees, delicious sexiness that heath and all our other idols so generously share with all of thier very deserving and adoring fans.
Is anybody think'n about that cute boy on the internet who's now famous for cryingly screaming to: "leeave Britney aloonne"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's cute to see how different we all percieve what we see and hear. I know toxcrusader is a great man and all so please don't think this is sarcastic or disrespectful in anyway. I am just curious if anybody else sees and hears anything like I do.

I haven't put more than a few minute's thought to Ledger's death. Sad that he (or anyone) should die a young and maybe preventable death.

You're absolutely right, and from what I've read here from you, I'd guess you were a "glass half empty" kind of person right?

Go watch it again Brach. If you thought that was a 'put-down', you are wrong.

You mean because they said it with a sincere and caring face?

I understand you are basically correct because that show would never do anything that MOST people would not like. MOST people would not like heathledger being disrespected because of how important they believe he was.

He is no more important than any of you or those poor soldiers or anybody who uses what they have in life to do more than simply help those that give more back.

Is it illogical or wrong to expect more from anybody who has more?

Sorry to disappoint you but I am anything but a "glass half empty" man.
I'm a man who appreciates knowing the truth as opposed to imagining about and believing in things I do not know the truth about.

I try to see things for what they truly are so I can be part of solutions to problems instead supporting anything that is known to cause any problems for anybody on this entire planet.

Is it not fair to expect that if you are not part of the solutions you are, in fact, part of the problems.

No one here seams to have mentioned the ME has come up with a cause of death. Which if I'm remembering what I heard he died from an interaction from the consumption of 6 different prescription drugs none in an amount to cause death but the combination of the 6 drugs caused the death.

SO not party drugs Most likely not suicide (unless by stupid) the list of drugs he took would scare the hell out of me.

I can tell you from recent first hand experience, Just the combination of 1 xanax and 1 flexoril topped off with a single cocktail can have you on the floor drooling.

Had no clue. Can totally believe it was accidental. Never again will I mix.

A senseless death that could have been prevented.

One would have hoped that whoever perscribed that toxic coctail was on top of things when he/she perscribed them.

And, if he was seeing several doctors, he should have had the sense to keep them informed about what drugs he was taking form other doctors.

Unless, of course, he intentionally kept the docs in the dark.
