I have two AA 1640's, the big brother to that. I really love the sound of these amps. Nice buy!

Nice buy - my daily driver is the 60W Heathkit amplifier and sounds great (see sig)

You might check the Heath for heat since you have the preamp right on top. Ventilation is important with all amps. Heat can kill amps. Admittedly some run hotter than others.

Good choice and a good price... Now to hunt down the rest of the family :)

There are fused in the amp boards.

Fuses get old and fail sometimes and sometimes they save the day.

3A, MDL type.

They are way down on the bottom.

Did you clean the input pots?
Do you have good connection on the RCA. They corrode so clean them too.

Well I did replace both fuses and the main fuse popped so I replace that one and the whole fuse case broke so I replaced that and now I have full power on the left channel no power on the right and no sound what so ever. Ideas?

Oh oh.

Amp fuses pop, new ones, then power fuse pops, new one, now right side out.
Correct?

All fuses still good?

Got some skills fixing electronics?
