Not worrying about space or price what are the biggest/heaviest Home Stereo Speakers out there and I'm assuming they'd be over 300 Lbs?

Klipsch Belles are 139 lbs each.. but felt like 200 lbs when I had lift one from SUV to gingerly place it in the dolly...

Do we count those White Van's someone posted the other day with sandbags inside them?

I thought the KHorn was around 300, or was it 200?

Since speakers are being made for the top 0.1%, they are big and heavy. many speakers have weights between 500-1000 pounds each necessitating putting them in a well built room and leaving them in that position for a while. But that 3600 pounder is something.

Old skool..., JBL Paragon. Shipping weight 850 pounds.

Funny timing for this thread, my 6 month restoration is finished, and last weekend these early 70s EPIs were moved upstairs (before the 16 driver installation to save weight moving them) not sure of shipping weight, but the cabinets were a short run sublet build, by a casket maker in CT, they are 6.5' tall, advertised weight is , 360 lbs a pair. They were very awkward and painfull to move up stairs, and through doorways. but worth every pound to me.

wasnt there sand filled speakers made by Sansui or Pioneer in the 70's? An outer cabinet and an inner with sand between them? I dont remember the brand for sure, but an Airman i knew at the time had a pair. they were really heavy, and made in Japan.

Wharfedale made some popular heavy sand filled speakers of that era, maybe not high end by todays standards. but heavy lol

It is sad that they only sound mediocre.

How so? I assume, given their nature that they have excellent clarity and dynamics. Is it a poor tonal balance or zippy highs or something like that? IME the tweeter used is an ear burner.

I haven't head them since the mid 1960s and have no memory one way or the other.
