Heaviest Home Stereo Speakers300lbs+)

Aren't Concert Grands about 250lbs each?

Spec sheet says my Concert Grands are 300lbs each. The L and R definitely feel like it, and are made of MDF. The center one is a 1958 model (which has later ceramic mids and tweeters, modded by me), is plywood and feels significantly lighter. 50" Panasonic Plasma for scale :)

My friends Linn Reference Granites are 450lbs each! Better find a permanent location for these!

Not sure how much the new WAMMs weigh, but the originals are quite hefty.

Below pic is not my set, I pulled this off the internet for reference.

I denoted that in the first line, the pic is of an early original model, but my set is actually a little earlier. Either way, they are quite heavy.

Why all those lightweights??? :D

Wow, if those are real, the FIRST consideration (after confirming one could afford them) would be if your home is sufficiently braced to get them installed in your audio room. No spikes for those (unless you want them to sink into the floor). :)

What an amazing room!

Makes me realize that I am truly an audio bottom feeder!

Matter of fact, "audio bottom feeder" will be my new signature. ;-)"

Another bottom feeder here. My heaviest are 100 lbs each...KEF 107's. I had Bozak 305's, which were about the same weight, maybe a little more, but a lot more awkward to move!

As for the Paragon, I bet it doesn't sound "great" but I'd gladly make an exception for something so cool-looking! Mid-modern work of art!

We do so much moving, I'm glad my speakers aren't insanely huge. The KEF's heads come off, which makes them a lot easier to move...don't even need a hand cart. The Quads are super easy to move too. Hardest thing to move for me, by far, is my Wurlitzer jukebox. There's no moving that thing without two people and a hand cart...it's a beast! No idea what it weighs, but I'm guessing about 350 lbs.
