Pyle Drivers
Even if the Pyle drivers didn't work at all and you got a functional pair of Heils with some good cabinetry. It's a good deal.
AutoMojo talks about modern replacement drivers for the AMT3 on Squirrley's thread on ADS 1230 vs. AMT1, if you're thinking of upgrading. You can find his writings on the Alphas and Daytons over at Parts Express as well.
I'll add that a crossover rebuild made a noticeable difference in mine. Of course, after spending $200 for a pair of speakers, dumping $750 into them is always hard to swallow.....

I love the sound of these speakers. $200 is a great deal, assuming the tweeters work. Those AMT tweeters go for $300 EACH.
I believe that Orange County Speaker has a "drop-in" replacement for those woofers (#1040SF).
Do you have the original "mid bass" woofer? I used a Audax HM130CO, it is a very light carbon fiber cone so I figured it would be fast enough to keep up with those super fast tweeters.
Are they ported? If not the cutout for the mid bass is only 5.1" and it was hard to find a speaker that would fit.

I think AutoMojo would be the one to get with on them..

You did well getting them at that price. Those speakers are high on my list to buy (if the cash to availability ratio is ever right). The rock monitors I believe, were considered the top of the line in the ESS AMT lineup.
If it were me, I would work on bringing them back to original condition. If you take your time, you may be able to find the correct drivers at reasonable prices.
Have you had a chance to try them out? If you enjoy them, you can use them they way they are or upgrade in the future.

Orange County bills them as a "drop-in" replacement, but if you plug the Thiele and Small parameters into a calculator, one driver needs the entire volume of the case for a ported set up. And the port needs an upgrade over the afterthought that ESS put in the ported models. Hopefully, this will be well thought-out before the upgrade, if the Pyle drivers (I just like saying that) aren't satisfactory (even better).
The Eminence Alpha 6a is a good "drop-in for the midbass/transition speaker. It's plenty sensitive and actually needs less cabinet volume than provided by the stock sono-tube in the AMT3. Alpha has a paper on this on the product page at Parts Express.

Mine had Hella Beat woofers in them when I got them! Good Lord!
I used Parts Express "Classic" DC250 10 inch woofer, which sounds good but they are only 90dB, a bit low. Auto Mojo likes the PE ST225, which, at 93dB, are a better match for the AMTs but cost twice as much.
However, be forewarned, the Alpha would not fit my early, non-ported, cabinets due to the smaller "sono-tube" with its 5.1 inch interior diameter.
