Orange County bills them as a "drop-in" replacement, but if you plug the Thiele and Small parameters into a calculator, one driver needs the entire volume of the case for a ported set up. And the port needs an upgrade over the afterthought that ESS put in the ported models. Hopefully, this will be well thought-out before the upgrade, if the Pyle drivers (I just like saying that) aren't satisfactory (even better).
The Eminence Alpha 6a is a good "drop-in for the midbass/transition speaker. It's plenty sensitive and actually needs less cabinet volume than provided by the stock sono-tube in the AMT3. Alpha has a paper on this on the product page at Parts Express.
