If you mean the longer spindle so records could stack atop each other and play one after the other, no mine didn't come with it. I just have the short spindle.

There are 4 that should come with it - the short lp, the 45 puck, the LP stacking, and the 45 stacking. If you are using it as a single play, you only need the short. But all that mechanical plastic gear stuff inside that you aren't using and that most Technics turntables don't have, can be a source of headaches with these. When you get the stomach for it, you should probably do a good cleaning and lubing inside. Good luck!

Removed the lift arm on one of the SL-1300s that I've rebuilt, used a hi-tech bicycle degreaser on Q-tips from above to clean out the damping oil chamber and spring. Never apply to the deck, just slight amount on a Q-tip until it comes out clean. Then wipe with dry Q-tip until there's no wet-looking area inside tube at all. Let evaporate for 24 hrs. Then repack tube with the RC differential 300-400,000 viscosity silicon grease and reassemble. Did this 10 years ago, and it's been behaving perfectly ever since.

It has been a while since I worked on one of these, but it sounds like you may have a problem which I have found to be very common. On the underside of the tone arm assembly there is a white cam which operates the cueing when the tone arm auto returns. It is invariably stuck tight. You will have to remove the entire tone arm assembly to get at it, but it will be plainly visible, and you will see green corrosion on the brass pivot it rides on. It will have a spring attached to it and should work smoothly.

I just picked up a nice Technics 1401, and the only issue is the loss of damping in the cueing assembly. I'll have to check out the simple version of solving this issue before I try the dis-assembly version....

Thanks for the link....I did examine the mechanism and found the cueing piston much easier to service than I thought...I need to find some of the silicon oil here in Calgary....
