My only HH Scott piece. It’s had some lytics replaced under the hood. I think sounds excellent.

I lucked out with this one. Got it from a fellow AKer. I also prefer the chocolate face LK-72s, though I would never turn down a gold face unit if it was a great deal!
You’ve got a hell of a collection there! Is your Scott a 222?

My 222c in my home office driving Omega 3T Desktop speakers with Omega sub. Lovely music. The td 160 has been replaced with a td124.

Nice cozy setup there! Love the drafting table as well! My drawing table is gone for years now. Everything is on the Mac. Warms my heart to see your table there.

My only unit, a 1963 340B early model, original HH Scott 7591 tubes. I still have the original box, but this is the custom plexi case I made for it. Also upgraded to LED display lights which make a big difference in the tuner display! I use it to power a pair of Wharfedale W70C and the TT is a Dual 1019 with a Shure M55 Cart

Fabulous! The face of this looks brand new! Great ideas for the case & LEDs. I've also got the original Scott 7591s in mine. Crazy prices for a matched set of these currently on fleabay.

Thanks! I spent a lot of time cleaning it up. Currently with an electrician friend getting the phono pre tuned up and also the PS.

For what it's worth I found excellent LED replacements for front displays of all kinds (including diffuse type led's) at this pinball machine restoration site:

The 222c and my upgraded-modified KLF-30's are a match made in heaven. The only thing still original is the mid horn itself and the cabinet (which has been beefed up-reinforced).

Never would've imagined a low watt tube to power such big speakers, even Klipsch. When my 340 has the PS re-capped I'll have to try it out on my CF3's, something I would've never considered.

I have one of those also, nice amp although mine is a late version with the lesser iron.

The 299D was shipped with either the larger or smaller transformers. With the smaller transformers, they were essentially a 233 with more features. Actually, a 233 was a good bargain. Now, here is some real trivia. There were a few 233 amplifiers which were fitted with a set of 7868 output tubes. I have seen them; I don't have one. The chassis was sometimes stenciled "7591" with a sticker or label which specified the 7868.

Scott and Sherwood had so many variations. We don't have all of the documentation any more. But I am sure that the service centers got the updates. For that matter, there were AT LEAST 7 versions of the 299C. But a careful eye can always equate what you have to a specific schematic. For instance, I have a 299C which is essentially a 299D/LK-72B with minor differences.

I'd like to see more of the Scott mono amps and stand alone stereo amps, curious since i have not owned any.
