How do newer speakers fair with vintage gear?

I run a Dual 1019 and jvc R-S33. Right now I just use headphones but foind some nice looking Klipsch KG 1.5's. They are in my budget and look nice for apartment sized speakers. Would they perform well?

Yes, they would perform just as well with an older unit as they would with a new one. Old watts are the same as new watts.

It isn't so much a matter of production eras being compatible as it is speaker and upstream electronics being compatible. The little Klipsch speakers you're looking at should match up just fine with that JVC receiver you have.

What they ^^^^ said. It's more about specification compatibility and sizing the components so they work well together vs. old and new.

My McIntosh MC2250 drives my Vienna Acoustic speakers just fine.

Right now I'm running a pair of late 90s Mirage towers with a Sylvania tube amp built in 1960. Sounds real good to my ears.
