First to clarify - when you criss cross the RCA's where the jumpers were now the one channel works - when you switch it back then the other channel works.
If that's the case then the power amps both work and it's an issue prior to the "PRE OUT" RCA.

If that's the case then it's something in the preamp section of the receiver.

Do you get the same behavior on all the sources (AM-FM-Phono-AUX)?

I'm guessing that when you dropped the receiver one of the connections on one (or more) of the face plate mounted potentiometers or switches cracked.
Look for damage in that region.
