imral3's system progression - aka - new house, new listening room

Nothing major to report with the in-room measurements. Just making sure speaker L/R balance and subwoofer levels were good.
Posted today (red) vs 2/1 (green) with both black and white backgrounds in REW not knowing which might be easier for you to view.
Now, without further ado...

The Saga+ sounds fantastic. I am in awe. Soundstage is wider, deeper, and sounds much less congested. The detail, clarity and delineation of instruments and space is spectacular.
Nothing left to do but listen and enjoy, right?
Well... since the JBLs have been sounding so good while bi-wired off the Aiyima mono amps, I decided it's time to actually bi-amp (vertically) using two Aiyima A07 stereo amps I just ordered. I have one in my little bedroom system and it sounds good there. If one sounds good, two should sound even better, right? ;)

More updates, measurements, etc., after the new amps are wired up and fired up.

Well, that's the reasoning I ran with when I bought a second Threshold s/300 so I could biamp my Infinity QLS-1's. I mean, the damn things are barely over 80db rated sensitivity and the Watkins DVC woofers get down to like 2 ohm, so surely more grunt would be the ticket. Not so...I could hear no difference in vertical and horizontal biamp configurations. It was a bittersweet discovery...on one hand I wanted it to sound better, on the other it gave me a massive amount of respect for that amplifier (might even be able to say it turned me into a Pass "fanboy"). So, in my experience it depends on the amplifier. And probably speakers, too. So as is usually the case in this hobby, TBD on a case by case basis. Which means do it. Lol

My little setup including the new Aiyima A07's bi-amping the JBLs:

Used REW to get levels set accordingly and I am pretty pleased with the in-room measurements:

Today (yellow) vs 2/15 (green).

Time to listen and evaluate. The addition of the Saga+ was a clear and evident improvement. The A07 bi-amping may take some scrutiny... off to my evaluation playlist.

Had to bring down
the bass, as it was a tad overwhelming. Today (red) vs yesterday (green):

Not sure if it's the bi-amping or if the A07s are just better sounding than the A3001s. But, it doesn't matter because an improvement is an improvement. Still evaluating.

Enjoy the musics!!

Good response. You have summation almost 3 octave across.

What does the Wiim Mini have over a CCA, for music streaming?
It plays local/network files; just about every music streaming service known to man (lol); has Spotify and tidal connect; does 24/192 out over optical; and is readily available!
I'm sure there are more positives and negatives, as with any product, but this seems pretty awesome for $89 in the US.
If you're into measurements ASR has one and will be reviewing shortly.

Added 1/4 spacers (aka nuts) to back feet of JBLs and raked 'em forward, thus pointing tweeter down a bit, and more directly at my ears. Greatly increased the perceived height of the soundstage.

Moved speakers a little further apart and a little more away from front wall. Also changed toe angle. REW measurements. Changes to subwoofer level and x-over... Rinse & repeat.

Flattened out the bass below 100hz and some improvent from 1khz on up.

Almost the same post as yesterday... Must have taken close to 50+ REW measurements.

Finally got rid of that 100hz to 175hz null. Sheesh!

More in the pursuit of insanity... er, um, I mean better sound!
