Hi, I have a line on a pair of L-36's. The woofers were re-foamed in Florida last year. The cabinets look great and all drivers seem to be original and he says they sound great. Asking price is 220.00. Any opinions? Thanks.

L-36s are from the "Decade" series.

The JBL L-100 is the "Century".

Now that this particular nit has been picked, carry on. :D

$220 is not a bad price depending on the condition of the veneer, I own three pair, one pair is premo cond, $300, one pair average,$200 and a rough pair I run in my garage,$100....The L-36s are a great little speaker and require just a modest amount of power to perform well......:thmbsp:

unless you're jonesin' for a pair of jbl's I'd put that money to much better use $220 is at the high end for these IMO and they sound is just eh whatever they don't suck but they really don't stand out either I had a shootout with these, heath as-1373, and dahlquist dqm-7's - all 3 ways with roughly the same box size and the jbl's came in last

I sold a perfectly restored pair (new orange grill cloth and reconed woofers) for $250 to a happy owner. $220 is a fair price, they are really special speakers.

looking at eBay, prices do seem to have jumped recently but I stand by my statement that thet are just an eh whatever speaker if one were to pay over $200 you're buying the name not the sound

fwiw i've had l-100T's, L-50's, L36's, S-38, and L-20T's as well as a couple other lesser models not worth mentioning i
