Just bought my first receiver

You did fine. That series of Sansui has a reputation for having great sound, an opinion I share from having serviced them. Besides the sound they look great and yours has the optional wood case with everything looking good and well cared for.

I'm positive you will be positively blown away if careful to connect the positive speaker wire leads to the positive output connectors, but just as positive you wont have a positive outlook if connecting the positive leads to the positive side of the auxiliary outlets on the rear panel.

That Sui is positively awesome.

Yes, 45 watts @ 8 ohms...but nothing about the bandwidth, just sounds great !

I haven't heard the 4000 yet, but that looks like a wonderful example. I have heard others from the same series and they really have that warm sound like only Sansui can do. ENJOY!
