All the bovine sediment concerning "matching transfer functions" is nothing more than a higher ESR, (equivalent series resistance) in the capacitors vs. the cheaper Daytons.
If you get modern, large "motor run" capacitors, full of inert oil, they have, essentially, the same capacitor materials, as the inexpensive Dayton Film Capacitors inside (I purchased a few).
The oil is for "cooling the peaks" during motor starts, which are way more demanding than the Milliwatts required to drive high impedance Horn Drivers!
Also, going through the Klipsch T2-A Autoformer/voltage divider, as a "worst case" scenario (least attenuation for AA vs. Heresy or Cornwall Crossovers) means that the Drivers will NEVER see the 10 volt PEAKS that would result in Khorns or LaScalas generating 121 db of output that would make your ears bleed.
The net result of JEM capacitors vs. cheap Daytons is the difference in "sharpness" or "dullness" difference, which is Audible, unlike the "Youthman conclusion" from the Video.

They are just 5% mylar caps and no secret sauce but that OEM endorsed price tag.

Well if you read what I said I am basically against spending 10 times what I can buy from Parts Express and according to my B&K 885 meter measure the same or better. I have found the Parts Express DATS hardware/software to be extremely accurate when it comes to measuring resistance, inductance and capacitance. It's only $130USD.

Yes, I have version 2 and 3. The latest has a built in calibration resistor.

I like the option of running an impedance sweep on any sort of speaker.

Of that $500, about $300~$350 is parts, the rest is labor. The ALK Universal is a good crossover for it's intended purpose. But there is so much documentation available, it is easy to build your own.
I prefer the ALK Universal for Klipsch Heritage speakers. It rolls the midrange off on the upper end faster and provides 18dB on the tweeter. It also allows you to attenuate the mid range easily.

Pretty awesome stuff. Wish they had come out with this years ago before I bought my meter. To be honest I never learned to use DATS for this since I had the meter anyway. Crites used one of these B&K's so I got one two.
I guess I ought to unbox and use my DATS some day.
