Just acquired this thing for nothing. Man does it sound sweet!! Dial lamps, stereo indicator light and tuning meter all not working. I don't see where this thing has any dial lights. Can anyone confirm this?

Found a pic on Ebay(sold units) of the same model as yours. It shows a lighted dial which may be as simple as a fuse type bulb at one end of the dial vs being back lit. I have a few early ss units that are similarly illuminated. Nice find. I have a late 70's Criterion(the house brand of Lafayette) and enjoy it. Nice find.

2 pix off Google images indicates there are lamps back there somewhere.
There is prabably one at the meter, and couple at the ends of the dial and one on the pointer.
Unplug the unit, remove the top cover, and take a gander.
That's a pretty receiver.

Thanks guys, I did find two fuse type bulbs both ends of the dial. Not sure where a guy can find them, they are pointed on the end rather than flat. Not sure how to get to the lamp for the meter. Do some investigating.

(based on your description) Those are called "festoon" lamps and shouldn't be too hard to find (depending upon the voltage & current draw of the specific lamps required).

You can google up your unit's schematic and find the specs for the lamps.
If they are 12V, the just go to the auto parts store and buy some LED equivalents.
Check the meter too.

If they are not 12V, then this guy is an AKer who sells lamps. Nice guy, easy to deal with.

If every single one is out, I'd poke a meter in there first and see if they are getting voltage. Its rare for them all to die, but not impossible. Could be a connection or some component common to all of the lamps is bad and causing them to get no power.

The lamp for the Dial pointer is still working, I was able to pull one of the lamps at the end of the dial, and it was pretty much black and the place on the other end of the dial, there was no bulb in the holder. I cannot find schematic online, if you were to guess, what is the standard for these bulbs? I'll post a pic of the one I pulled.

The voltage and wattage may be stamped into the end part of the fuse lamp. The ones out of my Pioneer were at least. Those look like the 8v lamps that Pioneer stuff in the 70s used.

Got the multimeter out and tested the receptacles, stayed just under 6 so anything above that should be good.

If you have 6V at the holder, then a 6V lamp is what you want.
I look for warm white festoon LEDs at the dial and be done with it.
They cost about the same as incandescent lamps.

They'll also run cooler, which would not be a bad thing.

Just picked up one of these, and all the lights are dead. Took some readings and there are two of the long bulbs on either side of the front panel, one inside the tuning meter. These measured out at 8.3v of AC. They would be the ones you see coming off the transformer in power circuit. The tuning indicator bar has a small, miniature bulb with attached leads as does the stereo indicator light. Dial lamp is same as the others, 8.3V AC. Having issues with the stereo indicator function, not sure if its working. Found 8.5V led replacement bulbs online, still working on the small bulbs. Hope this helps.
