List of Absurd Prices for Items - Fun thread for obviously enthusiastic expectations

I have an LG range with an induction cooktop. Will those wide range speakers work even if my range isn't especially wide, or do I need to get a wider range like a Wolf or Viking?

Huh... Think I'll stick with AT3600L, along with the premium "upgrade" in form of 3600LE for $38,40 thank you very much.

I'm curious, do people actually "buy" this nonsense from Rega?
I would think Rega is counting on most potential buyers not knowing it's just a garden variety AT and/or that some just have to have "Rega" embossed on the front of it for show. Gotta' love those E-Z terms, only $17 a month to finance your cart !

Yeah, gotcha.

By the way, I just realized something. That "Rega Carbon Pro" elliptical stylus was actually advertised for 106.95 euros, NOT dollars. Which equals around 126, 127 USD - even more than what I wrote, above. Gotta love those guys, they really give a whole new meaning to the phrase "marketing skills".

Perhaps a little optimistic for a MKIII, considering it looks like it's been buried in the back of someone's garden shed for the past 20 years:

At first I thought I was misreading the decimal point. Then I thought maybe it was listed with a foreign currency.

But no.

The original MSRP of the Pioneer SX-1980 receiver was $1,295 in 1978. Adjusted for inflation, that would be approximately $4,574 today.

Or…about $14K.

"back door treasure finds"?

Probably should have put little more thought into that ebay seller name.......:rflmao:

You made me look, LMAO!

"Made by Soundesign in Taiwan, this retro piece of electronics offers a nostalgic twist on modern audio technology. With its mix of vintage charm and functional multimedia features, this receiver is sure to appeal to collectors and audio enthusiasts alike."

The ebay AI assisted ads are just terrific ! Be aware there are others of this same model listed at $245 & $352, however they don't include the TT and original manual that justify the $485 ask...

Ebay's AI assist is terrible. Some guy listed a 45 watt receiver as putting out 180 watts. I told him he had it wrong. He said that AI gave him that info.

Idiots using a broken crutch.

I find it to be a great source of laughter and amusement ! It's as if the programmer was influenced by game shows from 40 years ago. Winners would choose their prizes with a narrator describing them to the audience.

All the guy with the 45 wpc receiver had to do was point out his evidence to you. Look at my rockin' 180 watt amp !
