List of speakers that are designed to be used against a wall.

Years ago I heard a system where the speakers were facing the wall hung by the ceiling from chains. If I’m remembering correctly they were a Bose model. Sounded good to me.

Was this on Earth, or the planet where you're originally from...? I guess Earth, since the speakers were Bose. But Bose does have very effective marketing. I guess they could be Out There.:idea:

I believe that most - if not all - AR speakers were designed to be used against a wall - or in a corner. The AR-3s were "bookshelf" speakers - designed to be placed in a bookshelf. Hopefully a sturdy one. I own AR-9s and the accompanying manual clearly indicates that they were designed to be played within a few inches of a wall.

Wharfedale LoudPanel wall speakers. They also made a small passive subwoofer to use with them.
I have a pair of the subs but, alas, no LoudPanels.

They sound surprisingly good,
excellent to pair up with a low sound quality plasma screen.

Against a wall is ok for the "classic" AR models. In a corner, not so much...at least in my experience.

The Sonabs they were designed to stand directly against the wall and used the wall as a sounding board to give a huge wide sound stage.
