local weed growing discussions

Question for all you people out there growing your own. How is your crop coming along this year? Show and tell time kids. ;) This is a pic of me and my largest plant so far this year. I am 6' 2" and the plant was 5' 8" yesterday when this pic was taken, it's 5' 9" today. ;)View attachment 1928746
I topped mine a couple times so it’s bushy at a little over 3’. I’m just stoked that it’s still alive and a happy girl.

Good looking plant Elco. That's one thing I've never done is top my plants, good or bad I'm not sure but I just let em go. Last year my best friend on the coast grew his 4 legal plants and they were all 8 feet tall or better so that's what I'm going for this year. Interesting looking leaf you have there, I have a couple that look like that with kind of a rough texture compared to my others, the rough texture ones seem to only have 3 petals per leaf and others seam to have 5 or more. The rough texture ones also seem to be more like a bush while the others are more tree like. We'll see in the fall which I like better, trees or bushes. ;)

Well the plant in the pic seems to grow about an inch per day, it's now up to 6' 4" but it seems to be very late as far as budding goes. My other plants are far more advanced in the bud dept than the big one, and I haven't seen any signs that it's a male so I guess it's just a late bloomer in the bud dept, time will tell.

Yay! Just ordered a bag of 1500 Ladybugs from an outfit on eBay. Not bad for $22.50 plus tax & free delivery.
I hope they'll colonize the neighborhood and gobble up any aphids and/or other pests.

Looking good. You're going to need some xmas tree ornaments on that beast! (grin)

Like Elcoholic mine are topped and shorter. I'll try to get a pic or two up in the next few days.

I bought some shake at my local weed shop, and I was blown away, (for 3 hours).
If it wouldn’t put me right back to a 1/2 a pack of Camel Wides a day like I never quit, I would love to have a spliff or two with a bourbon or three. I’ll probably play it safe and make cannabutter with my shake.

Are those all the same strain?
what are they??
They may be but I'll never know for sure. About 5 years ago I got some seeds from a buddy to get started with, and now everything I have has come from those original seeds, only this years crop is from my own seeds which have added up over the years. I find it kinda strange that everything I have came from those first seeds because some of my plants are so different from each other. Last year I had one that only got to be about 2 feet tall and shaped like a small Christmas tree and had lots of bud, and I also had a 6 footer that was tall and skinny which was my fave (had more bud than I thought it would). My plants are all over the map???? I save seeds sorted to type of plant and try to grow what I liked best from last years crop.

Some sativas can take forever to flower. Obviously you have a hybrid there, but if the sativa flowering genes are the ones in charge you could be looking at a December harvest and possibly still be pulling it early simply because of cold temperatures. My longest pure sativa flower time was 20 weeks. That's right, 5 months.

If I have to wait til Dec to harvest it just might be frozen and half covered in snow. I'll let it go as long as I can but it's gone once it starts freezing here, If I don't get buds from it the leaf should provide lots of stock for oil. ;)

Hey all, been awhile and I hope life is staying positive.

Been busy with selling off the audio collection and of course tending to the other ladies in my life.

So is anyone available to come help if I make it to harvest? Holy cow, I’ve got some vegetation to manage. Things got out of control and I had chop down a bunch of plants. Just my veggie box with 4 giants is 3 too many, then there’s the rest.

Funny thing, all of my potted plants and one in ground are flowering? End of August would put me at past 5 weeks. Definite sativa genes in growth, but early flowers. I imagine they’ll be in this phase for 6 weeks. Time to get harvest supplies.

Looking forward to getting caught up in this thread and seeing how others grows are coming along.

-Carl
