Log out, log in anomaly - change bookm@rk to https

I just noticed something strange, the dates on most of the posts changed to 2002, it feels like AK is going to get sick again.I hope not.
nevermind... it seems to have resolved.

A long thread, so I do not know if this has been mentioned already, but it looks like there is some kind of misconfiguration regarding how SSL certs and cookies are consistently handled for audiokarma.org compared to www.audiokarma.org. Also, it looks like there is inconsistency how the traffic to the site is redirected. All traffic should redirect to one domain name, e.g. https://www.audiokarma.org. Once that is in place, the rest should follow.

Experimental observation:

If I have this in my signature and click it, I will be logged out once on the target page:
https://www.audiokarma.org/forums/i...listening-space.130581/page-938#post-12529528

If instead I have this in my signature, I will stay logged in once landing on the target page:
https://audiokarma.org/forums/index...listening-space.130581/page-938#post-12529528

My take, use https for all bookmarks and links, and if www.audiokarma.org fails, switch to audiokarma.org...
 
Precisely. Let's call them 1, 2, 3, and 4 for brevity. If you're logged into 1, clicking on a link that has 3 as its address will now require you to log in. You're still logged into 1, but you are moving to essentially a new address.

I got logged out, so I logged in again. Clicked on the AK New Format forum and clicked through to this thread.
Read some posts and then clicked the back button
Logged out again.
Does that make sense based on the the other info out there?

Yes in that it can be completely random.
 
Man, the last couple of days it’s been terrible. I’m lucky to stay logged in for 10 minutes.
My days at AK may coming to a close.

Just use HTTP:// there is no reason to worry about HTTPS on this site buddy!!

AK did not all of a sudden become unsecure.... Its the same as its always been!! (This is the internet)

This is becoming a real PIA.

I’m logged in and can’t edit my own post because I’m told I have to be logged in to do that.
There has to be fix for this.
 
Open your Edit link in a new tab. That will show the url. If it doesn't match the https://audiokarma.org... format, change it, and you should be logged in.

I never see this problem, so I can't find anything at which to point Luther.

I don’t think so. There is also a device component at work here. My phone can be stable and simultaneously my laptop or desktop or my wife’s tablet will log me out if I even just look at the like button. Then the next time the laptop may be stable and the phone goes to ****. I don’t think even if I logged in 16 times (4 URLs on 4 devices) that this pooch would be unscrewed. I’m afraid my 16,000 post history is in jeopardy as this seems to have infectected certain accounts and nobody in charge has a clue or there’d be some official statement. I’m thinking I may need to start over with a new account and email address. I wonder how I can get credit for my subscription fee?
 
Yep, same with me and that’s the problem with computers. No matter how well they are programmed they always develop a glitch of some kind. It’s human to err, but it takes a computer to really mess things up....

I clicked the first URL, https://audiokarma.org. It opened a new tab and I landed on the AK Welcome page. I was prompted to log in, which I did, and selected the Stay Logged In option. I closed that tab. Then I clicked the remaining links. It brought me to the home page (in the same tab) and I was logged in each time.

Win7 & Chrome. Will try on one of my iPads later.
