looking for a cartridge for my tonearm

I have a Thorens TP30 tonearm, and the stylus for it broke. I need a new 7.5g cartridge that Isn't going to break the bank. If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate them.

Not quite enough information for informed recommendations. Are we to assume the cartridge you have is MC? If so, it can likely be repaired, for less than the cost of a new cartridge of equal quality. Even broken cantilevers can often be grafted.
Or, is it a moving magnet with non-replaceable stylus, such as a Rega, or perhaps it's simply unobtanium?

A price range will also be helpful with recommendations. I like the Ortofon 2M Blue, and 2M Bronze, for MM choices.

I've been using the AT VM540ML for a month now and it's a great MM cart. My previous cart was a Denon DL-103 MC. I'm not feeling the need to move back to a MC as the AT is a excellent match for the Denon DP-30L. Don't know if it's 6.4 gram weight would be a problem for your arm

Simple answer, low mass arms, prefer MM cartridges. Ortofon's OM and 2M range, and the Grado are excellent offerings.

You'd probably best make a pic or two and post it/'em here, so one can see, what you've actually got there. Especially as there wasn't only the regular TP70 arm wand for the TP30 arm, but also the special TPO70 and TMC70.
