Lots of sexist avatars on audio forums

One time when I was 6 or 7 years old, my mother found a Playboy magazine that I had in my room and wanted to look at it. Strangly enough, a girl that used to live 2 houses away from me said she liked to look at the titty magazines, too. This girl aslo liked having her titties played with, too and would constantly encourage me to do this.

Can the OP please cite a few examples for reference? All I see is here-say and one mans opinion. If you are going to ask us if we are offended by something, point us to the something you are questioning.

I apologize for my sexist avatar. I'm exploiting my late grandmother and her six sisters in the production and promotion of an evil alcoholic beverage. And those bare hands.............................!

Anyone else out there disappointed at the rampant sexism on display here, as evidenced by the plethora of juvenile and sexist avatar photos on so many audio forum members?

How would our mothers, wives and daughters feel about this?

While I do respect your right to feel that some avatars are sexist it is a slippery slope when people start judging others. Considering the diversity of sexual appeal it could be argued that any picture of any person alludes to sex in that somebody out there is turned on by it. I also believe you are confusing sexist with sexy since sexist is an adjective describing a belief or attitude of superiority of one sex (usually male) over the other which influences subsequent behavior towards the other sex.

Based on that definition an avatar is incapable of forming such an opinion and therefore it is impossible for an avatar to be sexist. An avatar of an attractive woman does not mean the avatar's user is sexist. For all we know the user adores and respects women and simply chose a sexy avatar. What ever happened to live and let live? What if somebody objects to avatars of old guys? Or animals smoking cigars? Where do you draw the line? Answer is you don't.

If you're offended by something in life it makes more sense to accept that some are not offended by it and just move on rather than expect everyone who may offend you to change or suppress their expression to suit your opinion. Live and let live and accept that the world doesn't cater to any one exclusively. That's how I roll anyway.

There are indeed some women who post regularly on this forum. I would be interested in hearing from them.

Are you implying that certain avatars here objectify women?

If it hasn't already been done, some anthropologist or sociologist is going to write a dissertation on the communities spawned by computer forums like this one.

I've always found your avatar particularly sexy ... but maybe that's just me ...
