Lunar Eclipse right now?

If you're up, you may want to look out the window.
I'm told there's a lunar eclipse going on today and should either peak or begin here at around 4:26AM.

That is all.

I've been up all night waiting for it. been drinking "California Root Beer (Galliano, Kahlua & Tonic Water) and watched "Black Snake Moan" & "Nacho Libre" (must be a full moon) while working for the apartment, waiting for it.

4:21 right now. I poked my head out a minute ago and scared some wildlife (we got deer, foxes, coyotes, racoons, skunks, beaver, woodchucks, ect.) but couldn't tell what I spooked.

Hope to see something good....

Watched it in the car on my way home from work. I felt the need to sacrifice something (after reading the Bog Bodies story in the Geographic) so I ate some cashews. The moon was setting before it started out of totality so I didn't get to see that part.

We drove down to the beach at the lake we live by and watched from ~5 until it disappeared in the dawn light. Too bad it got too bright out to watch come out of totality. I will comment that the Orion 11x70 binoculars we have for sky-watching are a tremendous value for the $129 we paid for them a few years back. Just the right size and strength for star-gazing. Sold the Fujicon 16x70 after got these as they are simply too big and heavy to work without some sort of support. Could very clearly see the craters and other moonscape features with the binocs. Great show!

Duh!..........didn't even think of it. My brain is not well engaged at 4:45a.m. Am sure you will be able to google up some good pic's.

Hope to see something good....
I woke up at 4:00 AM local time and it was a good one. Just a sliver of the moon showing. What really made this one special was how bright the moon was. A little early for a harvest moon I guess but it was bright, then dark. Eery.

.....I watched the whole thing....the reddish glow to the Moon upon total eclipse was definitely eery.....

Crappo. By 5:20 it was well behind the trees. I'd have had to have wheeled myself lordy knows how far to see it, and duno if I'd have made it to a clearing in time.

I did see beautiful stars as the night sky was crystal clear, and the moon was bright and beautiful.

And that's always a treat.

I watched from about 2:00 - 4:00 AM here on the left coast. I was able to watch the show sitting on the steps of my back porch. I used this handy little calculator to pinpoint totality in my area. Hopefully I can catch up on my sleep tonight. :boring::thmbsp:

A little birdie just reminded me that Mule has 3-SVS B4's! That should be enough to scare any werewolves away!

.....(chirp, chirp)....Rick, three across the front soundstage is wonderful....tasteful, supporting volumes are all I ever use with them when I'm by myself, but sometimes friends come over and ask me to crank them....after about 5 minutes with them cranked we start looking different to each other.....

Mule, have you ever posted pictures of those eery monsters here on AK? I know the boys at AH know all about them but I bet most don't here. Maybe a future project for you in the speaker or HT forum. :thmbsp:

.....Rick, I've got a very good Nikon D200 digital camera that I'm too lazy to figure out....I've either got to get with it or sell it....I'll post a link that has pictures on the B-4 I bought about 3-4 months ago to add to the two I already had....
