Anyone asking $1000 for gear without pics always puzzles me as well. This chap is also suggesting a trade or OBO - maybe has something to hide based on cosmetic or functional condition or doesn't have a decent camera. Could be an older person that doesn't know how to. Could be a bunch of reasons but I'm gonna go with provbably a good chance that they're not in the best shape and he wants you to show up. Might be able to pluck them for a decent price.
