I bought the Marantz 240 and 3300 tonight for $60.00. The 3300 does not work but I thought I would try to get someone to fix it. Anyone have any info on these units?

A very very nice score indeed!
Both of those pieces are held in pretty high regard within the Marantz family.

The 3300 is an nice pre with a lot of functionality, and absolutely worth getting repaired.

From the looks of the photos both pieces look especially nice cosmetically, and once you get them up to spec and running properly putting them in their respective WC cabinets just takes these classics to a whole new level.

You done good, real good!!! Congrats :D

I have been looking for a 3300 to go with my 240 I bought a few months ago. Great score on getting them both for cheap.

beauty score! just make sure you stack them with the amp on top (needs the ventilation) when up and running! good job!!:thmbsp:

Terrible units. I feel so bad for you that I am willing to reimburse you your $60 and you can send them to me for proper disposal.:smoke:

Nice score, that will be a killer set when you get everything up and running! What speakers will your pair with the set?

wOW!!! Just the knobs are worth more than $60! Great score. I have the 1200 Integrated which is a combination of the 3300 wit a sligthly derrated 240/250 sounds sweet

WOW!
You sir, got a score!

Those two separately are good, together, mind blowing. Be sure to have them taken care of by someone who knows and loves vintage Marantz gear.

I'm happy to read your opinions of Starrider1's deal. I paid of my 3300 and 240 a whole lot more and still one channel in 240 don't work. Actually my friend hasn't started with 3300 at all. I'm happy to think he might finish those by the end of this year and I'll get them working to our new home.
As far as I've been looking after Marantz vintage gear I must say these units are "precision crafted in USA" that makes even greater demand for these. Not only for great sound, nice looks but these are the high end of an era in Hi Fidelity.
Especially Nightfalls comments make me eager to get sound out of my gear. I have Imperial 7 loudspeakers of 1970s and I really look forward to get all these work together.

NICE!!!!!!!!!! Still the 3300/250.240 combo is still my favorite. Clean it up, consider a few upgraded caps, and you're golden!
