I’ve seen for sale at $3000+. I don’t know if they sold.

There doesn't seem to be much info out there.
I have one that I've owned for 25 years and haven't plugged it in for 20 years.
I'm going to bring it up slowly and try to observe the caps for heat and current draw.
I used it the last time it worked.
Or maybe vice versa.
It takes a powerful Variac to bring those up slow. I don’t think it matters. They are built well.
From what I’ve read, the weak point was the output transisters. Marantz had trouble getting real good quality outputs because the military was taking all the great ones.
$2000 should be a lower price limit, I would guess, depends on how and where you would sell.
I think I saw one go stupid high because the seller claimed a former Marantz engineer checked it out and gave a clean bill of health. I have forgotten the price.
They are fun. I should fire mine up again.

Not looking far enough i see
Real talk, a 250 sold for less than 600 on eBay. Doubling that and adding "TOTL Swag value" gives me a max of 2500 to spend before I'd walk away, if in working condition and I couldn't sell the thing and was at an estate sale auction.
$2500 is realistic.
IF a person sold online and shipping world wide was an option, something tells me you could hook a whale.
(working and cosmetics good).

I bought one ten years ago and it cost me 1200.00 then. The preamp cost another 1000.00. It's been sitting in my cabinet and I don't dare to run it now until I check all of the caps and connections.
