Marantz wood case ?

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I have 3 Marantz receivers all with the wood case, would it be a good idea to remove the metal case, and use only the wood case, to allow the heat to escape better?

In general... I'd say probably no need to remove the metal cover.

In specific... Depending on the particular model receiver and how difficult the speaker is to drive and/or how loud you crank it, it might make the ol fella happier to have his jacket off.

fwiw, I have 5 Marantz receivers all in wood cabinets and all have their metal covers on them.

I agree. If you do though, please keep the cover and mounting screws!
