Marrs up on Fraud Charges (Don't buy there!)

Have you read my story? It would be very interesting to you. I think there are no hundreds of orders. Krista lied me several times. These people couldn’t complete my order during a year. It’s unbelievable for normal business and normal people. And they send me the large part of my order (very quickly) only after I threatened them going to a court. They became swindlers. They need money very much and can’t serve all of their customers.
What about their phones. You can try to call. You will always talk to an answering machine. You can leave a message of course. And they will decide to call you back or not. Krista never called me back. Fred did only once. When he wanted me to be became his dealer in Russia. That means me to buy belts with discount (for my money of course) and resell them here for his regular price.

The "hundreds of orders per month" caught my eye too.
Seems optimistic to me, especially with the abundance of information on the internet about their shipping department.
But maybe it is true..

I do believe that is because the hundreds of orders that are received by customers each month are not here mentioning the issue, only those that have not received the order.

It is up to the buyer to jump through those amazingly complicated hoops to report to them the lack of receipt of an order but after doing that they come here and complain. Then disappear when the order arrives.

Marrs posted a phone number on tapeheads for those so inclined to get their order cleared up. Those overseas, maybe send your information to a friendly AKer that might help with a phone call or use cheap phone service for int'l calls.

I have no idea if it is still that way but Marrs was proud of never having taken the money and not sent the belts on a completed transaction. But sometimes that sending the belts seems to take months and months. With proper documentation, one should be able to get the product due or a refund.

Just coming to AK to complain is not a way to move forward on a resolution to the problem but it may make the aggrieved party feel better. With a small percentage of complainers, it will be very hard to shut down the supplier of the best belts for gear. I'd just contact Marrs and see what is up. Don't forget to follow the rules however unusual they are.
Where do you get your info of "hundreds of orders per month"?

When Fred had proposed me to be his dealer in Russia, I asked him how many belts does he think we will sell per a month. He answered he assumes that it can be about 50 pcs.

If they can’t serve all of their costumers they should increase their prices or hire staff. But they choose another way. It’s because they don’t have enough belts to satisfy all the costumers. But they need money very much and they don’t know to where get it else but from buyers. And send back most of them nothing but apologies. I don’t know another explanation.

For what it's worth, every belt I've ever ordered gets to me on time. Marrs is the belt company in like New York or New Jersey, right?

Not everyone is so lucky as you are. :)
Looking through my purchase history, it seems I always purchase belts from “Mar_Vac” and “Amecbol” on the Bay, not Mars Communications (although I could have SWORN I’ve ordered from them in the past). My mistake!

Another unsatisfied customer here.
I understand they are primarily a tape deck belt supplier. But I wanted to get the best possible replacement for mu Dual turntable drive belt (CS505-3). They brag they have the best belts.
They said they had it "in stock," so I ordered it.
Well it finally arrived, 7 and a half weeks after I ordered it.
It is the wrong size on ALL dimensions.

Compared to the OEM belt:
The inner circumference is shorter. It fits so tight that I need to push the platter to get it to start moving.
It is about twice the material thickness.
It is about 25% taller, so much that it sometimes rubs against other parts.
On top of that, it has doubled the "wow" measurement from .20% to .40%.

Their new website talks smack about this forum. They have a terrible business model. I hope they go under soon and end the suffering.

Anybody who sends money to a company with as bad a reputation here, on the BBB site, on pissedconsumers.com, and elsewhere, ... what do they say about a fool and his money?

I know, we don't all sit around our computers with the extra time to research each purchase, but this one seems to have pretty universal dissatisfaction and most people who are buying belts for old cassette decks etc. found them on the internet, and have a hobby that indicates at least a little time available for research.

I've been called worse.

Me too, ... I'm married!

From their website , this looks like a total scam also from them... 20% discount for a check not written to the company, again RED FLAG!!!

(Personal checks MUST be made payable to Krista Smith and mailed to: 17503 Cassina Dr. Spring, TX 77388)

With all the complaints do not send these people money!

If they are incorporated to protect their personal assets from legal action, that will pretty much breach any protection that they had.

Taxes? Are they paying on monies received through their personal account? Again a very bad business decision either way.

Sounds ugly.

I mentioned similar yesterday before editing my post.
