SF Cremona Auditor are great speakers, but I'm not sure they fit your budget. I have a soft spot for Vienna Acoustics, used to own a pair of the first generation Mozart. You might consider VA Beethoven Baby Grand (do not require stands). VA tend to have a warm sound (which I enjoy). Both SF and VA are imported by Sumiko, so you might be able to audition them at the same dealer.

I really like the 275 with SF Cremona A's. Look around for a pre-owned pair. The VA Baby Grand may also be a good choice but I have not heard them in combo with the 275.

Second that! I have the Auditors + REL sub with my MA2275. Nice match. I'm sure a used Signum or EAII would work well too.

thanks - yes the SF are very nice indeed.
what wire are you using?
Zebra my friend. I've tried many, Zebra's give me the balance I was looking for and for a 25ft run I needed between the 501s and the Cremona A's, the price is laughable. It's not the money, I have a decent sum invested into my system already but why spend more than you have to??? With audio, what you pay is not necessarily what you get. It's a balance and synergy game. :thmbsp:

Satchmo,
How did you like your first generation Mozarts? I saw a pair for sale for $200. nearby and was wondering if they would be worth a look. Thanks,
Bill

Hi, above are all good recommendations.I have heard it at places like Tweeter/BB,aonther option to consider is ML(Vantage)if you are able to up your budget.I have tried Lipinsky 707 with Mc 275V and didn't like it had a canned sound, muffled, mushy for lack of better words.
Next week ,I am planning to try BW 805s with Mc 275.
I have already listened these with AR-Vt150amps and they sound warm and relaxing.
But to my surprise what beats them all as listen to vocals/soul music is;
Amp-Mc30s
Preamp-MC C22 Reissue
Source-Sony CES555
Speakers-BW CM1 on sanus stands
Monster 16 gauge cable for speakers and straight wire interconnects.
Music force you to sitdown, relax and enjoy or unwind your stress.

Actually, I loved them. Very sweet top end, thanks to that silk tweeter (Scanspeak, I believe). You can fill the bottom of the cabinet with sand or lead shot to deaden the speaker... I did. Once you get them weighted down and spiked, they are rock solid and essentially vibration free. While the Mozart has a nice, warm presentation I found that I liked them with a sub for some recordings. The sub wasn't needed on well recorded material, but it came in handy when overcoming the shortcomings of poorly recorded or compressed pop/rock music.

My previous system was an all-Classe solution based around the CA300 amp, linked with Silver Audio interconnects and speaker wires. I particularly loved to listen to horns on the Mozarts, even more so than with my current McIntosh + KEF Reference 205 system. Louis Armstrong is a favorite, and the Classe + VA Mozart system played his music wonderfully. In contrast, my current system is more useful for playing a much broader selection of recordings, plays louder, and is great for DVD viewing. But it lacks the liquid magic when playing horn recordings. Something a bit dry, thin and tipped up in the treble. Not sizzly, just dry and thin.

Anyway, I recommend the Mozart is a wonderful little speaker, and easy on the ears.

Thanks to all for the responses..... very helpful!!!!!

i'm going with the 805S with dedicated stands for my 275 IV. Stay tuned!!!

Satchmo,
Thank you for your comments. Are the Mozarts a difficult load for a tube amp (eg, MC275 IV)? Thanks,
-Bill

This is my first post :
Hello everyone
I own MC275V and Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand and it sounds very natural and smooth I think its a very good match

Macromega, I have to imagine that's a fine sounding system you have. Do you have adequate low bass with the MC275V + Mozart Grand solution? How would you characterize the overall sound?

it sounded bit harsh when I first got the speakers but after about 60hrs it became very smooth in highs and midrange I have a very small room so I can't really complain about the bass.
what kind of music do you listen to ?
I listen to jazz, classical, and vocal for what I listen to I couldn't find anything better in that price range which was $3000.00
I was compairing with Energy veritas 2.4,Monitor Audio gs20,and Altec Lansing 508

I had MC7300 before I got my MC275V bass was more accurate and tighter on MC7300 but MC275 had that midrange magic that I was looking for

I listen to a lot of older jazz (swing, traditional, Dixieland) and older rock from the 60's and 70's. I considered the Beethoven Grand but ended up going with the KEF Reference 205 (much more expensive speaker). The KEF has the edge on neutrality and dynamic range, but I've been spending effort trying to warm up the sound as the 205's are leaner than I prefer. I will probably end up adding a JL Audio or REL sub.

Generally, VA is one of my favorite sounding speaker brands... I love the warm sound. Your use of the term "liquid" is exactly how I would describe the upper midrange on VA speakers. With my original Mozarts I had limited bass. The newer Mozarts address this, I believe.
