McIntosh MA 7000 Detail PHOTO'S

Anyone know yet the advantages of the MA7000 over the MA6900 other than 50 more watts and handles?

Whole new design & totally different circuit board(s). An A/B resulted in better dynanics, more punch, more detailed and plays louder cleaner than the 6900. The key difference lies in the totally new innards.

I love the handles. I hope they put them on all the amps. Except for the MC275 of course.

If that was mine I would remove the gold handles, re-install when ready to sell.

The handles look odd to me. As a stand-alone unit, the appearance could be acceptable. But in combination with other modern McIntosh pieces, especially when stacked in an vertical array, the handles look 'over-bearing' and out of balance for the size of the unit and out of place and do not provide a continuous and integrated appearance, etc.

Realize that others may view the handles differently.

To me the gold finish is the most unacceptable part, although as you say others may in fact prefer the unit just for the golden look of these handles, I can see where some high dollar basketball player just love the look, it would perfectly match the custom gold trim of their Mercedes AMG cars.

where do you see gold?

the handles are silver/metal color, just like on most other Mcintosh pieces. the 'gold' you see is just a reflection from a nearby light or warmer colors done by the photocamera.

Ditto. I don't see any gold. I don't think McIntosh would "pimp up" their regular components. I've seen some special editions in gold, but never in the "standard" issues.

Yep, the handles are their new statement style (will be on MC2301's) & they are bad ass amp silver (BAAS).

Well, I went back for another look at these photos and I still see gold, is it possible that the color balance in these photos is shifted to gold due to incandescent lighting?

So cool to have your car in the house. I wanted to do the same with my Porsche when I first got it.

I have all my really nice cars parked inside. A couple Ferrari's, a Porsche, an NSX, and a GTR. They even look better than the Ford GT in his picture

Don't forget the MA7000 has LED lighting. That is a nice feature. :yes:
